CI reports assets under management for July 2020; total assets at record high

TORONTO (August 6, 2020) — CI Financial Corp. (“CI”) (TSX: CIX) today reported preliminary assets under management at July 31, 2020 of $129.1 billion and wealth management assets of $58.2 billion, for total assets of $187.3 billion – an all-time high for the company. 

 

In the month of July, CI’s assets under management increased by 2.8%, its Canadian wealth management assets increased by 2.2% to $50.1 billion and its U.S. wealth management assets increased by 65.3% to $8.1 billion, reflecting the closing of a previously announced acquisition. 

 

Year over year, assets under management declined 0.5% while Canadian wealth management assets grew 6.4%. Canadian wealth management assets include the assets of Assante Wealth Management (Canada) Limited, CI Private Counsel LP, WealthBar Financial Services Inc. and Virtual Brokers. CI’s U.S. wealth management business consists of its interests in four registered investment advisory firms: The Cabana Group, LLC, Congress Wealth Management, LLC, One Capital Management, LLC, and Surevest LLC. Year-over-year data is not available given that CI has acquired these interests in 2020.

 

CI’s average core assets under management for the quarter-to-date were $123.4 billion, an increase of 4.2% over the average of $118.4 billion for the second quarter of 2020.
