Peter Hofstra, CFA, PhD
Peter Hofstra joined CI Global Asset Management in July 2017 as Senior Portfolio Manager. Peter brings to the team a depth of experience in both investment management and company management. Immediately prior to joining CI, Mr. Hofstra was Chief Investment Officer and Managing Director of Investment Research at Manitou Investment Management, a firm that focuses on private client and institutional money management. He was also a co-founder of a clean technology investment LP, which was acquired by Manitou. Prior to that, Mr. Hofstra was a portfolio manager at a large mutual fund company where he co-managed a U.S. equity fund and was lead manager of a science and technology fund. He has a B.Sc. in Chemistry and a PhD in Engineering Physics. Before joining the investment industry, he spent eight years with a technology firm, initially serving as a Senior Scientist and eventually becoming the Vice-President of Research and Development reporting directly to the CEO. Mr. Hofstra holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Brian Huen, CFA
Brian joined Harbour Advisors in January 2015. Prior to joining Harbour, he was Head of Trading and Portfolio Manager at a Toronto-based alternative asset manager. Previously, Brian was an Executive Director at CIBC Wholesale Bank in its Institutional Equity Division. He also has experience in equity sales, private equity and investment banking with UBS, TD Capital, and Credit Suisse. Brian began his career in equity research with Scotia Capital in 1998. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and an Honours Business Administration degree and an MBA from the Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario.
Andrew is a 25-year veteran of global fixed-income markets, having managed multi-billion-dollar bond portfolios in London, New York, and Toronto. Andrew is a former Vice Chair and Global Head of Credit Products at TD Securities, where he held a variety of senior trading roles over a 15-year career. Prior to joining CI Global Asset Management in 2011, Andrew was a Partner and Portfolio Manager at Aladdin Capital Management in London, England. Mr. Torres holds a BMath degree from the University of Waterloo.
Ali Pervez, CFA
Ali Pervez joined Harbour Advisors in June 2016 after three years as a research associate at Barclays Capital covering the Canadian telecom, media and technology sector. Prior to that, he was a research associate at National Bank Financial covering Canadian consumer staples and consumer discretionary equities. Mr. Pervez has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier University and also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. During his time at Wilfrid Laurier, he completed co-op placements with Johnson & Johnson and UBS Securities.
Bunty Mahairhu, CFA
Bunty Mahairhu joined Harbour Advisors in October 2016. Prior to joining Harbour, he was an associate portfolio manager for three years specializing in Canadian equity funds at bcIMC. His investment career began in 2008 as a corporate analyst at bcIMC where he also gained experience as a trader and served in that capacity until becoming the acting Co-Head of Trading in 2012. In 2013, he shifted roles into fund management. Mr. Mahairhu holds a First Class Honours Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Simon Fraser University and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Greg Quickmire, CFA
Greg Quickmire joined Harbour Advisors in 2014. Prior to that, he held various positions at CI Investments and its affiliates. Mr. Quickmire holds an HBA with distinction from the Ivey Business School and is a CFA charterholder. While at Ivey, he was awarded the Fairfax Prize for producing the top group investment thesis in his Value Investing course.
Jeremy Rosa, CFA
Jeremy Rosa joined Harbour Advisors as an investment research analyst in 2011. Prior to joining the group, he held various positions at CI investments and its affiliates. Most recently, he was a securities trader at Assante Wealth Management. Mr. Rosa holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and graduated from Financial Planning Management at George Brown College.
Jason Goddard, CFA
Before joining the CI Global Asset Management team, Jason managed multi-billion-dollar active fixed-income portfolios for institutional and retail clients at GLC Asset Management, a division of Great West Life. Jason was the Lead Portfolio Manager of a government bond fund and oversaw multiple specialized fixed-income mandates. Jason honed his fixed-income analytical skills as an analyst supporting credit hedge funds in Toronto. Jason is a CFA charterholder and earned his MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Bachelor of Applied Science (Mechanical Engineering) from Queen’s University.
Prior to starting at CI Global Asset Management, Jason operated various Capital Markets Desks at Scotiabank on Bay St. and Wall St. After becoming a Global Senior Manager within Risk Management at the bank, Jason joined the trading team specializing in options, and non-linear liability and proprietary activities. He was accountable for trade desks specializing in rates (Canadian and U.S. dollar) options, oil and gas derivatives, valuation adjustments and emerging markets rates (notably Latin America). Jason has an MSc from The University of Reading, U.K.
